IglooHome Lock Review

April 22, 2017 By aug

This is a personal review of my igloo lock installed in my home. I am one of the early adopters of this lock because of the low price it was at back than.
The lock itself is pretty simple. A basic E-Lock that uses passcode to unlock and lock. Design wise is simple too with just a number pad and what i believe to be a keyhold below that is covered.

The lock was working fine for a couple of weeks but it broke down after that. Following which the locks seems to be trying to auto lock itself even thou it is already lock as such you will keep hearing a grinding sound.

Calling the company, it was pretty hard to get them and support wasn't readily available. Fast forward to today, we do not use the lock anymore. It still stands on our door but it is basically useless as we rely on our gate lock and gate lock pad to provide security to our home.

How the Igloohome team created a smart lock that doesn’t need Wi-Fi, and still works even if you’re halfway around the world.

iphone scam, police scam. Is singapore still safe?

September 23, 2016 By aug

Yes it is tempting to buy a iphone from a 3rd party at a price cheaper that what is available in store but still do becareful.

There are too many such scam cases. including another where a lady was conned of $80k.

I think the underlying question we as Singaporean should start asking is why is there such a large increase in scam cases in Singapore.

Is it because of the standard of living being raised to such an extand that people are resorting to such measure to survive? or is it because Singaporeans are just easy prey for such scammer? or could it be that the law and punishment against such crimes are worth the risk for such scammer to take?

As such i would like to ask the readers of this site to beware and alert of such possible scam and i pray that no one falls to it.

SINGAPORE – Yet another type of scam has surfaced in Singapore, after a woman lost $80,000 to scammers pretending to be police officers. The 41-year-old victim received a call from a stranger claiming to be a police officer, who then accused her of being involved in money laundering. – See more at: http://news.asiaone.com/news/singapore/police-warn-fake-spf-website-after-woman-loses-80000#sthash.LHCHwhot.dpuf

The 30-year-old suspect is said to have cheated at least 12 victims on a social media platform, believed to be Carousell. Credits: Man arrested for alleged iPhone 7 online scam

Tan Peh Ling – Mom is not a weakness

September 4, 2015 By aug

Being a mum is not a weakness: Tin Pei Ling

Elections heating up here on the ground. I do like Ms Tan a lot. Congratz on being a mom and all the best in the election.

On a side note i do think the remakrs by Cheo Chai Chin was kinda blown out of portion by the mainsteam media.

NSP Candidate Cheo Chai Chin says he had not meant to criticise Tin Pei Ling or launch a personal attack – instead his comments were just a joke.

Iphone 6s…nah…

September 3, 2015 By aug

Hmm….iphone 6s. Really think i am going to skip this 1 even thou i have been using (and changing) my iphone with each release. Doubt i am upgrading my phone so soon this time unless there is a really drastic difference.

The yearly iPhone refresh is a fact of life, as unmistakeable a sign of fall as back-to-school sales and baseball playoffs. And one thing you can count on just as certainly as a new iPhone is the rumor mill spinning out of control leading up to its unveiling. The iPhone 6s is no exception.

Handing over of homes in Singapore

April 29, 2014 By aug Leave a Comment

Just finished moving home and i had to hand over my old home to the owner. One of the stuff that you really need to ask your home owner when you are renting the place is if they would allow you to drill holes in the wall. Apparently mine was not pleased and i am required to patch up all the holes (more than 50 since we had loads of photos to hang) before we hand over the home back to the owner in 3 days time. If we had failed to meet the deadline, we had to pay another month of rent.

Frankly, we found this ridiculous. Still there was not much we can do except to try and get the work done. On the bright side is we managed to engage a handyman we are pleased with. They managed to squeeze us in to their tight schedule due to our deadline (the rest just kept delaying the appointment date). You can find their them at www.sincerehomeservices.com should you need a handyman or plumber (they solved a choke in my sink too).

Anyway back to the main story, the guys from sincere home came solve our problem and helped us with the installation of some stuff in our new home and the dust has finally settled. Will try to post pictures of our new home soon. For those whom know us personally, a house warming is around the corner :)
